Workshops / Charlas
Periodically, workshops are offered on topics such as housing
rights, access to health care, tax and immigration issues,
and low-cost banking options. These programs help new immigrants
understand their rights, develop skills they need to navigate
the challenges of living in New York City, and take advantage
of low-cost services available.
Cultural Exchange
The Centro offers opportunities for formal and informal cultural
exchange among students and volunteers. End-of-term celebrations
and occasional cultural excursions and recreational events
are a few of the activities that bring members together to
share their native languages, music, food, and dance, as
well as to exchange thoughts, experiences and creative writings.
Film Series
The Centro occasionally shows documentary films, usually related
to Latin American politics or culture. |
